The new rifles were developed by the Kharkiv XADO Chemical Group, which founded the SNIPEX brand in 2016 for its high-precision small arms.

As previously reported , during the creation of the Snipex T-Rex rifle, the designers relied on the wishes of the military: it should be a classic “bolt gun”, the minimum possible weight, without automatics, simple and faultless, designed for tough operation.
The layout of the rifle is based on the bullpup scheme: the bolt group is placed behind the trigger. During loading, the cartridge is inserted into the window of the receiver with the shutter open.
The Snipex T-Rex rifle has the following characteristics: weight – 25 kg (as indicated on the company’s website, the weight was previously reported as 22.5 kg), total length of the assembled rifle – 1800 mm, barrel length – 1200 mm, initial bullet speed – 1000 m/s, effective range — 2,000 meters, bullet flight range — up to 7,000 meters. The weapon provides aimed fire and accuracy no worse than 1 MOA.
