On September 1, a new professional standard “Specialist in the flight operation of unmanned aircraft systems (remote pilot) consisting of one or more unmanned aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of more than 30 kg” came into force (Order of the Ministry of Labor of Russia dated April 27, 2023 No. 358n).
The professional standard establishes four qualification levels:
A (3rd level). Flight operation of unmanned aircraft systems, including one or more unmanned aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of more than 30 kg.
B (4th level). Flight operation of unmanned aircraft systems, including one or more unmanned aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of more than 30 kg, performing the functions of a crew commander of an unmanned aircraft.
C (6th level). Organization of training for crews of unmanned aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of more than 30 kg.
D (7th level). Organization of flight activities that carry out flight operation of the organization’s unmanned aircraft systems.
For each level, requirements for education and training, conditions for admission to work, labor functions, and labor actions, as well as the necessary knowledge and skills for their implementation, are determined.
