The Russia-Africa forum and Shoigu’s trip to North Korea are events of approximately the same order. They show the level to which today’s Russia has fallen.
By the way, level is not only an emotional concept, but quite measurable. The cumulative GDP growth of the African countries that came to the forum over the past 15 years has exceeded the growth of Russia’s GDP by a symbolic, but nonetheless one percent. That is, in terms of economic growth and development, Russia is already at a level that is not only comparable to Africa, but even lower.
At one time, Putin delivered the so-called “Munich speech”, in which he allegedly demanded a more worthy place for Russia in the world layout. Allegedly, the Kremlin did not like it. But in fact, just in time for 2007, Russia was at the highest level of its international relations and position.
In 2006, she chaired the G8 meeting, which also meant her right to prepare the agenda for the G8 – that is, her right to raise issues that are important to her and of interest to her. There is simply nowhere to go above. To be equal with key players and form the circle of questions of the meeting – what else is needed? “What else do you want, dog?” ©
Not dissatisfaction with one’s position, but precisely the inability to maintain it, caused the Kremlin’s sudden turn to confrontation. Putin, like Pushkin’s old woman in the tale of the fish, has ceased to adequately perceive the wealth he received and suddenly fell on him. So inadequate that he began to demand the unreal, for which he himself was not ready and which no one would ever allow under any circumstances.
It should also be noted that neither Putin nor his regime had any merit in this: on the one hand, by 2006 Russia had reached an equilibrium position after the collapse of the USSR at a lower level than it, but nevertheless, the trend was to fall. was overcome, moreover, the equilibrium position developed during the default of 1998, which put an end to the policy of pro-Western collaborators – “young reformers”, on the other hand, the situation after the default was pulled out by the government of Primakov-Maslyukov-Gerashchenko and fixed the level from which the fall stopped, and there was a reserve for the future rise.
In fact, Putin received carte blanche to conduct both domestic and foreign policy at the highest possible position at that time. Including a place in the G8, which was given not to him personally, but as a result of the processes that took place before him.
Needless to say, it all ended up going nowhere.
In fact, the last fifteen years of Russian history have been an increasingly rapid slide of the country to an already obvious finale, followed by a complete collapse and the possibility of formulating a new development project, but from a level that can be seen today just by the Russia-Africa summit and begging for help from North Korea .
Below, probably, it is still possible to fall, but not very much – just below this level, insolvent countries, the Failed State, begin. And if the collapse does not happen quickly, then we will reach this level, and the countries of Africa will become a new unattainable level for us.
In the 15 years from the chairmanship of the G8 to almost Failed State, it is difficult to imagine a more obvious characteristic of both the regime itself and its leaders. Yes, it is not necessary, since everything is in front of your eyes.
