UPDATE MARCH 29 2020 Masoud Molavi's assassination order issued by the 
Consulate of the Islamic Republic in Istanbul.

Evidence shows that the order to kill Masoud Molavi had been issued by the 
Islamic Republic's consulate in Istanbul in November, Reuters reported. 
Reuters quoted two senior Turkish officials as saying that two Iranians 
with diplomatic passports from the regime's consulate in Istanbul ordered 
the murder of Masoud Molavi.

The name of the man walking in the video of the murder alongside Massoud Molavi was “Ali Esfanjani, who was responsible for the Molavi assassination team.” He had succeeded in bringing himself closer to Massoud Molavi. Three days after the assassination, he managed to flee to Iran with a fake identity. Police and Turkish security officials obtained evidence that they followed up on the day before the assassination, Ali Esfanjani went to the regime’s consulate in Istanbul and then contacted the guards. More than four months after the assassination of Iranian citizen Massoud Molavi in Turkey, Reuters news agency on Friday, March 27, 2020 wrote in a separate report that he had been killed by two Islamic Republic intelligence agents.

The agency quoted “two senior officials in the Turkish government” as saying, but did not name the officials.Massoud Molavi Verdanjani, was shot and killed in the Shishli neighborhood of Istanbul. The killer had shot a bullet to the heart and a bullet to Mr Molavi’s foot.At the same time, Turkish media referred to Massoud Molavi as a security figure linked to the Islamic Republic’s intelligence agencies. Reuters reports that the same intelligence agencies were involved in the assassination.According to a Turkish security official interviewed by the news agency, several suspects in the case, including the killer, confessed to “ordering two intelligence agents in the Iranian consulate”.
The two agents, according to Reuters sources, “confessed to the suspects” “have a diplomatic passport and ordered the assassination.”

Massoud Molavi’s relationship with the former director, his revelations about the IRGC and some judicial figures, his assassination in Turkey, and his co-operation with the November protests inside Iran have prompted the theory of his assassination by Iranian security agencies.Reuters news agency continues its report on a post published by Massoud Molavi in August – three months before his death – in connection with the Revolutionary Guards.
Massoud Molavi wrote in the post:

“I take root in the corrupt [mafia] commanders.” In the same post, Rumi wrote: “Pray that they will not kill me before.”

Reuters reported that the Revolutionary Guards had warned Massoud Molavi not to cooperate with Turkey on drone projects and would not provide the Turkish government with information about it.
It is said that in spite of the IRGC warning, Massoud Molavi has been in contact with European countries as well as with the United States of America.An Iranian source told Reuters that Massoud Molavi had published information he had either hijacked or obtained through his contacts from Iran.The same source said he did not respond to a request from the Iranian embassy in Ankara and had been in touch with US and Israeli diplomats.
