Images of the destroyed pagers indicate that they correspond to pagers manufactured by Gold Apollo, a Taiwanese company. The founder of Gold Apollo said that the pagers that were used in the explosion weremanufactured by a European company , which in turn has the right to use the Gold Apollo trademark.
DW journalists investigated the company and paid a visit.According to BAC Consulting’s website, the firm develops “international technological cooperation between countries to sell telecommunications products.” It added that the collaboration involves “expanding business from Asia into new markets, such as developing countries.”
According to the official register of companies in Hungary, BAC is engaged in a variety of activities – from the production of electronic medical devices and electronic components to the extraction of natural gas and crude oil.
DW journalists visited the official address of BAC in Budapest, but did not meet or see any employee of the company. No one answered the doorbell. The BAC website went down suddenly on Wednesday. Researchers at X published information that the domain was purchased in 2020, two years before the company was founded, and had previously belonged to another company.
CEO of the company is Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono. She has been working at BAC since March 2016 and is listed in the official register of companies as the sole owner. As expected, journalists could not contact the person.
