Recently, information appeared on the Internet that the company “Motovilykhinsky Zavody” is selling off its property and is producing almost nothing. The information is not entirely true.
The plant specializes in the repair of MLRS and artillery systems, in particular Msta-B howitzers and Nona-K self-propelled guns. As of 2023, there is a large amount of equipment in the queue for repair/deconservation on the territory of the plant: MLRS “Grad”, “Uragan” and “Smerch” (removed from storage), self-propelled guns “Nona-K”, about 50 howitzers Msta-B and , interestingly, 2C1 “Carnation” self-propelled gun.
That is, almost the only plant with medium capacity that can repair MLRS in Russia is loaded with absolutely all types of artillery, which can speak of problems and efforts to “put out the fire” with what can be restored here and now. The capacities of other plants are clearly not enough to compensate for the lost self-propelled guns.
