One of the bottles pierced the window of the city pension fund office, two square meters of the ceiling burned down. The recruiting office was not injured – the rest of the bottles did not catch fire.

In St. Petersburg, a serial arsonist of police cars and buildings was detained. He has two cars and a warehouse of the National Guard on his account.

They tried to set fire to the private security warehouse at the end of January – then someone made his way to the building on Zanevsky Prospekt, doused part of it with a flammable liquid and set it on fire. The building did not catch fire and survived, and a month later the investigators came to the suspect. It turned out to be Alexei Baranov, a 38-year-old machine tool worker at one of the city’s factories.

According to the investigation, two police cars are also listed behind Baranov. On February 20, a man approached a parking lot on Tikhoretsky Prospekt and set fire to a Hyundai Solaris and a Skoda Octavia that belonged to the police. At that moment, no one drove them – the cars were being repaired.

According to investigators, Baranov also planned to set fire to several police cars on the day of his arrest. With him, they found two half-liter bottles of flammable liquid, an action camera, gloves, a balaclava and lighters. At home, the suspect found several more Molotov cocktail bases, as well as two kilograms of saltpeter.

According to Baranov, the motive for the arson was his disagreement with the special military operation.
