Hackers break into Iranian state TV channel – news broadcast interrupted by a target on the face of Iran’s supreme leader and a call to overthrow the government regime
Iranian television’s late-night broadcast was interrupted by a video of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on fire and a target on his face, accompanied by the lines “The blood of our youth is on your hands” and pictures of girls killed during Iranian protests, including Mahsa Amini, who died under strange circumstances at the police station after being detained for wearing the wrong hijab.
The hacker protest was organized by the Edalat-e Ali (Justice of Ali) group – hacktevists call for the overthrow of the government and the regime, and also not to stop mass protests until justice is achieved. For more than a month now, protests have been taking place on the streets of Tehran – if at the beginning it was mainly women of the feminist movement of the Islamic Republic who took part in the demonstrations, now the entire opposition, and even students and schoolchildren, are coming out to rallies.
