After the modernization of the Longtian airfield (Fuzhou province), the PLA command deployed additional forces and equipment at the facility. Object coordinates: 25.56771 N x 119.45684 E

As of July 10 this year. on the open parking lots of the airfield are marked:
➖ 3 Jian-11 fighters on duty;
➖ 8 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Jian-6.

In peacetime, fighter jets patrol the waters of the Taiwan Strait. In the military, in the case of the start of China’s NMD in the Taiwan direction, the tasks of escorting combat aircraft, delivering strikes against important enemy targets and conducting air combat. The Jian-6 UAV command of the PLA, in our opinion, will use a massive missile attack on Taiwan before the start of the PLA. They will be used to divert the attention of the Taiwanese air defense system and use them as kamikaze UAVs.

Amid the increasing frequency of Chinese military aircraft flying into Taiwan’s air defense identification zone, China is expanding its two airfields located in close proximity to Taiwan.

In view of this, there are Chinese military airfields – Longtian and Haiyan (Huian Airbase), located at a distance of 170 and 190 km, respectively, from the island, on which the runways have been repaired and expanded.

The minimum flight time for PLA aircraft to reach the island is seven minutes. It is reported that for the period of hostilities, the objects can serve as jump airfields, as well as shelter for bombers.

Longtian Airfield (Fuzhou Province) continues to be reconstructed from May 2020 to this day (expansion of the runway, apron, construction of a new control tower, modernization of hangars, etc.) in the interests of the Chinese armed forces. It is located only 170 km from the island of Taiwan.

China is modernizing three airfields – Longtian, Huyan and Zhangzhou, located in Fujian province at a distance of 100-200 miles east of Taiwan. Infrastructure construction has been underway since the beginning of 2020 and is continuously ongoing.

Forward-based airfields are designed to deploy the PLA Air Force to carry out missions in the Taiwan Strait. Thus, China confirms its interest in permanent control of the airspace over the air defense zone of the Republic of China.

The following work was carried out at the Longtian airfield:
construction of 4 hangars to accommodate duty forces;
construction of administrative buildings (barracks);
expansion of the apron and open parking areas for aviation;
construction of 5 ammunition depots;
arrangement of a position for the deployment of air defense systems.

The following works were carried out at the Huyan airfield:
construction of three warehouses for storing ammunition, open parking;
expansion of the runway, apron;
construction of 4 hangars to accommodate duty forces in addition to the existing 24 hangars for aviation shelter;
arrangement of a position for the deployment of air defense systems.

In close proximity to the Zhangzhou airfield, construction of a new launch site for the deployment of air defense systems is underway.

Modernization of airfields speaks of China’s intentions to increase the survivability of facilities to perform further tasks as tensions rise in the Taiwan Strait. In the near future, we expect to see the intensive activity of the PLA aviation from these airfields, as well as the conduct of airborne operations. There will be no descent to Taiwan, it will soon be in the strong embrace of Beijing.
