Satellite images of the Chinese “mosquito fleet” off a controversial reef in the South China Sea. 

Satellite images from Maxar Technologies of 220 Chinese “fishing trawlers” anchored off the disputed Whitson Reef in the Spratly archipelago of the South China Sea.  Philippine Defense Minister Dolphin Lorenzana has demanded that the Chinese side remove the vessels, which he called “the invasion of militia boats.”  The Chinese ignored the demand of the head of the Philippine Ministry of Defense, claiming the PRC’s right to own this territory and that in general the ships there are hiding from the bad weather.
