Satellite photographs of three major artificial reefs (the first is Subi Reef, the second is Fire Cross Reef, and the third is Mischief Reef) in the disputed Spratly Archipelago in the South China Sea. March 8, 2021. Hangars of three types were built on each of the three reefs: small ones for J-11B, Su-30 MKK and Su-30MK2 fighters, medium-sized ones for Xian H-6 bombers and tankers, Y-8 transport aircraft and KJ200 AWACS aircraft. The largest of the hangars can accommodate Y-20 and Il-76 military transport aircraft, Il-78 air tankers and KJ2000 AWACS aircraft. The construction of runways on all three reefs has been completed.
