Video of Shenyang J-11 and Su-30MK2 fighters of the PLA Naval Aviation, based on a rotational basis on the Yongshu (Fiery Cross) artificial reef in the disputed Spratly archipelago of the South China Sea.
The military infrastructure built by China on these artificial reefs is impressive. On each of the three main reefs, runways, hangars of three types were built at an accelerated pace: small in size for J-11, Su-30MKK and Su-30MK2 fighters, medium – for Xian H-6 bombers and tankers, transport aircraft Y -8, Y-9 and AWACS aircraft KJ200. The largest of the hangars can accommodate Y-20 and Il-76 military transport aircraft, Il-78 air tankers and KJ2000 AWACS aircraft.
