🔹New reports indicate the existence of a secret military base belonging to the Israeli regime in the deserts of Najaf. A base that was set up before the start of the Ramadan War to support airstrikes against Tehran.
🔹According to the Wall Street Journal, this covert facility not only housed Israeli special forces but also served as a logistics hub for the Israeli Air Force. Quick-reaction and Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) teams were stationed there to rescue pilots downed in potential strikes. The US was reportedly aware of the base’s existence, but American forces did not play a direct role in its establishment or operation.
🔹The exposure of this sensitive base is owed to an Iraqi shepherd who observed unusual helicopter activity in a remote area in early March. After reporting it to Iraqi authorities, Iraqi forces were dispatched to inspect the site but came under Israeli airstrikes intended to prevent the base from being uncovered. Iraqi officials announced that one soldier was martyred and two others wounded in the incident.
👉 Israeli Unit 669 and Shaldag Unit were reportedly to be stationed at this base, tasked with conducting search-and-rescue missions to locate and extract pilots of downed Israeli Air Force fighter jets.
🛰 Satellite imagery of the Zionist regime’s secret base in southern Iraq shows a dedicated 1.6 km dirt runway built on a dry lake bed.
🔺The Saudi newspaper Independent Arabia had also mentioned a commando operation by foreign forces in the deserts near Najaf on March 4, stating that military drones had patrolled the area before the operation. The Israeli Army Radio later paid attention to this report and assessed it as confirmation of the presence of Israeli soldiers deep inside Iraq.
✍️ The key point lies in the geographic distance of this base from intended targets. Najaf is about 200 km from the Iranian border and over 800 km from Israeli territory. Establishing such a base in this location effectively shifts Iran from the third circle of target countries (requiring aerial refueling or overflight of other countries) to the first operational circle for Israel!

According to satellite images, the base of the Israeli army’s special forces and search and rescue was built at the site of a dried-up lake. This strip, 1.6 kilometers long, located 180 kilometers west of Najaf, is about 350 kilometers from the Iranian border.
