There she received a wound in the head, unfortunately not fatal, a small fragment got into it. While she was undergoing treatment, the company in which Makarova served was transferred to the Kherson direction, where she already signed her second contract. Also, the intelligence officer of the Russian Armed Forces mentions the Zaporizhia direction in some interviews. In August 2023, she was wounded in the leg, a grenade fell into the trench. In the same year, she was awarded the “For Courage” medal.

In an interview, Makarova said that her duties included “monitoring the actions and movements of enemy saboteurs.” They conducted round-the-clock surveillance, at night – with the help of optics and drones. In addition, I performed the duties of an instructor – taught shooting to beginners.

Although Makarova also talks about patriotic motives and how she went to fight “for Donetsk and Luhansk, because Nazism flourished there” (not to be confused with nationalism ) and it is necessary to “protect the inhabitants of Bambass from Banderovtsev”臘‍♂️ it is likely that the motives are not only patriotic… In one of the interviews, the occupier says that she still has unresolved issues with housing , because the state is in no hurry to provide orphans with free apartments, which they are entitled to according to the legislation of the Russian Federation.
