Russian President Vladimir Putin postponed his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) for an hour due to hacker attacks on the forum resource that violated the pass system for the plenary meeting, said press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
“Massive DDoS attacks began yesterday on the accreditation system of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, we held it yesterday and tonight. Today, due to intensified DDoS attacks, the database of forum participants and the badge admission system were disabled, therefore, unfortunately, now there is there is a hitch with getting badges and confirming access to the plenary session. Specialists are now working to fix this problem now,” Peskov said.
According to him, the plenary session of the forum has been postponed from 14:00 to 15:00 Moscow time.
