The crash site of the Russian-made Il-76 cargo plane in Sudan.
According to preliminary information, the plane was shot down by rebels from the Rapid Reaction Force using a portable anti-aircraft missile system, but friendly fire could have taken place.
This Il-76 could have been transporting weapons from the UAE to the rebels themselves (the Emirates actively supports the Rapid Reaction Force in the civil war in Sudan).
A photo of a technician on board, who had Russian citizenship, is also circulating on the Internet.
There are rumors on the Internet that there could also have been mercenaries from the former Wagner Group on board, but there is no confirmation of this information.

Two of the flight crew have been identified as Russian contractors for the company.
The plane was supplying the RSF, and they shot their own supply transport.
