The Wall Street Journal writes that Russian trolls are once again active on social media and appear to be desperate for influencers to pay attention to them.
It will be recalled that in July, the US Ministry of Justice published a list of usernames of about 1,000 X accounts associated with the bot farm, which, according to the department, was managed by the FSB.
According to U.S. and Western officials, the operation was aimed at spreading false or misleading information in the U.S., Europe and Israel, as well as inciting political discord and creating anti-Ukrainian sentiment.
Russia has been using low-quality accounts to one degree or another since at least 2016. They are now easier to create, thanks in part to artificial intelligence.
