“We stand in total solidarity with the fighting brothers in the al-Najba’a movement against the brutal Zionist bombing aimed at their ‘Cultural and Media Center’ in Damascus tonight, and we declare our firm stand by their side in all their response options that they deem appropriate.”

The Kataib Sayyid al-Shohada militia, which is also known as the Hussein Ben Ali Brigades, is an Iraqi militia that receives funding from the Iranian Quds Force, missiles and advanced UAVs from Iran and has also been trained in recent years by Hezbollah in Syria. The militia operates under the umbrella organization “The Popular Mobilization” (Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi).

We can say that the militia is responsible, among other things, for guarding strategic sites of the Revolutionary Guards in Syria, mainly in the southern suburb of Damascus, al-Sayida Zainab. The militia secretary general is wanted by the CIA and he even visited Lebanon during the current war and met with Nasrallah and also visited the border in southern Lebanon.
