Most likely, they will all continue to do the same thing they have been doing for the last two years: courting the Western bureaucracy and trying to “stay on the news agenda”, maintain their “quotability” – in the hope that someday in the Russian Federation everything will somehow collapse by itself and they will return to “participate in fair elections.”
Well, along with this, they will conduct journalistic investigations, lobby for some new sanctions and (we hope) do something to improve the situation of Russian political refugees in the EU. This is all good, this is also necessary.
But you and I understand that this is by no means the main direction of work. And in order not only to move on to the main direction of work, but at least to recognize its legitimacy and necessity, this requires a completely different level of political thinking.
That’s why.
