What happens in the war in Ukraine. Part 2. Bakhmut and the Svatov direction
While large-scale Ukrainian reconnaissance in force is going on in the South, fighting around Bakhmut continues in the East. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are moving north and south of the destroyed city.
According to reports from the Ukrainian and Russian military, the Russian Armed Forces have left the village of Berkhovka, Ukrainian units are approaching Krasnaya Gora and Yagodnoye, settlements between Bakhmut and Soledar.
South of Bakhmut, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are also gradually moving forward, the ruins of the city are completely shot through by Ukrainian artillery. After the units of the PMC “Wagner” left the city, the army units and units of the LDNR hold the defense. According to officers from both sides, cases of mass surrender of those forcibly mobilized from Lugansk and Donetsk regions to the Armed Forces of Ukraine have become more frequent in recent days. By mass, our interlocutors understand the simultaneous surrender of 7-20 people.
On June 4, a video appeared on the network in which PMC fighters are interrogating Lieutenant Colonel of the RF Armed Forces Roman Vinivitin. From the video it becomes clear that the lieutenant colonel “out of personal hostility” recently disarmed a group of PMC fighters together with his soldiers, and also fired at a car with “Wagnerites” and, possibly, ordered to mine the roads along which PMCs left Bakhmut
How did it happen that mercenaries interrogate an army lieutenant colonel? Approximately the same as many other things in the current RF Armed Forces. The 72nd brigade, whose commander Lt. Col. Vinivitin calls himself, was part of the units of the newly formed 3rd Army Corps in 2022. The corps included volunteer units from the regions of the Russian Federation, the remnants of the broken units of the NM LDNR, the remnants of some militia formations.
“These are not army, this is the rabble that plugged holes. Drunk officers, raiders, the most stupid mobiles were written off there. This underground (Vinivitin), in principle, didn’t fall to anyone. He got drunk, arranged a personal revenge, but also crap with her. For shooting at their own, they could simply be reset immediately and no one would even ask for him. Well, now otpizd..t and let go. This is not the first case with these volunteer battalions, ”explains an officer from the headquarters of the RF Armed Forces grouping.
Recall that a few weeks ago, the 72nd motorized rifle brigade suffered heavy losses south of Bakhmut and retreated, exposing a three-kilometer section of the front, which the Wagner PMC had to close.
In the Svatovsky direction in the Lugansk region, the RF Armed Forces are trying to create bridgeheads on Oskol in the Dvurechnaya area. These attempts have been underway since March 2023. Russian troops use units recruited from prisoners (“Storm-Z”) for assaults. The headquarters of the group believe that the bridgeheads in this area will allow the Armed Forces to deliver a flank attack with a direction to Kupyansk when the Ukrainian offensive is in full swing. For this purpose, in the Valuiki-Urazovo-Troitskoye area, the RF Armed Forces are forming a group of 25-30 thousand people. Those units that have been withdrawn since May 24 from the front line in the Lugansk region have also been transferred to this area.
Dmitro Korchinsky – one of the founders of the ALLIANCE , the leader of the “Brotherhood” unit, was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Belgorod People’s Republic . The appointment was made by the Provisional Government of the BNR.
A liberation operation is already underway in the BNR and a referendum for independence is being prepared, which will be held on June 15-30. Other members of the ALLIANCE will also take part in the referendum, namely: Chuvashia-Volga Bulgaria , Karelia , Novgorod Veche Republic and Voronezh Republic .
Recall that Karelia has already filed a petition calling for a referendum for independence 9 years ago. The time has come to carry out this plan.
