According to a new study by the British Royal Joint Defense Research Institute (RUSI) and Reuters journalists, the Russian Orlan-10 UAV still consists of components from the American Altera and Xilinx, Texas Instruments, Microchip Technology, Analog Devices, Linear Technology, European STMicroelectronics and NXP Semiconductors, Japan’s Renesas Electronics and Saito Seisakusho.

That is, since 2016, when the international intelligence community InformNapalm published a study in 10 languages and a photo report that the Russian UAV “Orlan-10” consists of parts manufactured by the United States and other countries, nothing has changed.

In 2021, the Orlan-10 configuration drew the attention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Japan to the fact that the Russian Federation still could not find alternatives to the internal combustion engines of the Japanese manufacturer SAITO. Sanctions on the supply of these engines could significantly slow down the ability of the Russian Federation to restore the fleet of this main type of UAV of the Russian army.
