Inhabitants of Energodar should evacuate against the background of Russia’s shelling of the territory of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, – the head of Zaporizhzhya OVA Oleksandr Starukh.

“We advise people to leave Energodar, especially women and children. There are four electricity outlets from the nuclear plant, only one remains. Yesterday there was shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and our operators had to reduce the load of the 5th power unit. This is pure nuclear terrorism.”

“The Russian Federation has begun the process of connecting the ZNPP to the Russian energy system with parallel preparations for disconnecting the ZNPP from the Ukrainian energy system, which is up to 20% of all generation in Ukraine."

The nuclear power plant is the largest in Europe, it stores 1,200 tons of uranium.

“It is impossible to joke about such things. It is necessary to demilitarize the station and the 30-kilometer zone from heavy weapons of ammunition, so that there is not the slightest hint of an emergency situation,” – Starukh.
