On February 10, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus published a press release on the start of Russian-Belarusian military exercises. According to official information, “the practical actions of the troops (forces) will take place at the Obuz-Lesnovsky, Osipovichsky, Brestsky, Gozhsky training grounds, as well as certain areas located on the territory of the republic.”
Officially, nothing is said about the presence of Russian troops in the Gomel region, despite the fact that they were recorded more than once by the inhabitants of the region, and regional newspapers reported on the arrival of troops and the conduct of exercises in the regions. It was also reported about the creation of a base at an airfield near Gomel.
Thus, it is known for sure that Russian troops are in the Gomel, Rechitsa, Narovlyansky, Yelsky, Lelchitsky regions.
