Gazprom filed a lawsuit with the Special Purpose Arbitration Court in Stockholm, in which it demanded an increase in the price of the contract for the supply of gas to Poland via the Yamal gas pipeline. This was reported by the Polish state oil and gas company PGNiG (Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo).
It is noted that on January 14, 2022, the company received a summons from the lawyers of Gazprom.

“The requirement to increase the price of the contract, included in the tender offer of Gazprom, is completely unfounded. We are ready to prove it before the Arbitration Court,” said Pavel Mayevsky, Chairman of the Board of PGNiG.
Gazprom, in turn, requires a review of the terms of contact dated December 8, 2017 and November 9, 2020, the company said. PGNiG continues to work on changing the price terms for natural gas supplies under the Yamal contract.
According to RIA Novosti, Gazprom Export has confirmed that it has applied to international arbitration to revise the price of the gas contract with the Polish company.
In November, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki accused Gazprom of rising gas prices.
In his opinion, “price manipulations in the gas market are very clearly visible today.” Responsibility for this, as the prime minister assumes, lies with Gazprom, whose actions led to a rise in gas prices several times over.
