Around 12 o’clock today, the available information from Automatic Identification System (AIS) showed that one of the U.S. Navy destroyers was moving from the western area of the Strait of Hormuz at a speed of 24 knots and a heading of 77.8 degrees towards the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz and exiting it.

The last position of this destroyer was updated at 12:26 today while the ship was moving eastward in the western Strait of Hormuz and exiting it.
The available information about this destroyer, including the MMSI code, indicates that the destroyer was the Michael Murphy (DDG-112). This destroyer is part of the escort destroyers of Squadron-21, responsible for escorting and accompanying the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (CSG-3) (First link / Second link).
Note: The route of this destroyer in the Strait of Hormuz indicates that it was moving towards a danger zone where the IRGC had previously issued a warning about mine-laying; one possibility for this U.S. action could be an attempt to conduct mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
