Taliban reaction to rumors of Chinese troops at Bagram base

Bilal Karimi, the Taliban’s deputy spokesman, said today that no aircraft had arrived at Bagram Airport from China and that no Chinese troops had been stationed at the base.

Last night, the lights of Bagram base were turned on again after three months, and many rumors were spread that the base would be handed over to China.

Local witnesses have confirmed the presence of foreign troops in front of the gate of Bagram Airport.

Published images from Bagram Airport show that the lights of this airport were turned on tonight after two months.

Bagram Air Base, located 50 km north of Kabul, is of great strategic and practical importance due to having the most facilities and airport equipment, as well as a 3,200-meter runway with sufficient width for two fighters to take off simultaneously.

Local witnesses have confirmed the presence of foreign troops in front of the gate of Bagram Airport.
