Yandex Maps has learned to build routes inside railway stations, airports and popular shopping centers. Such routes can already be built in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Ufa. The update will help you navigate large organizations better and find the necessary stores, restaurants or boarding gates faster.
You can build routes between objects inside the building, as well as from any point in the city – for example, on foot. The application will tell you the nearest entrance, help you find a passage, escalator, elevator or stairs and lead you directly to the desired location. As in regular navigation, Maps can offer several options for getting there.
To build a route in a shopping mall, the user needs to select their floor and specify the location, and then specify the end point. And to build a route to a gate or a railway line, you need to find it on the map, hold it down and click “here”.
To enable routing inside buildings, the Maps team updated the floor plans of organizations that are most often accessed by car and public transport — they specified the location of escalators, elevators, and other objects. In addition, the routing algorithms were updated: now they can take into account the number of floors and build routes on different levels of the building.
In the near future, more organizations will appear within which routes can be built, and the function will begin to work in other cities of Russia.
Well, let’s wait for Yandex rovers in shopping centers )))
And so the news is really cool, I will try to test the service in the near future and share my impressions.
