An amazing story, discovered by Swedish OSINT researcher Marcus Jonsson: the ship Ruby, carrying twenty thousand tons of Russian fertilizers – ammonium nitrate, entered the Norwegian port of Tromsø (the largest in the north of the country).

The stated reason was storm damage, although the ship reached the port under its own power, and the police, after a short investigation, have already demanded that it leave (its towing is already being prepared). Despite this, a frigate of the Norwegian Navy stopped near the ship, not taking the problem seriously enough.
The main danger of ammonium nitrate is that in addition to fertilizing fields, this substance is also explosive. Its power is 42% of the power of TNT, that is, the explosion of a ship with twenty thousand tons of fertilizers would be approximately half the power of the atomic explosion in Hiroshima in TNT equivalent. The most famous case of an ammonium nitrate explosion occurred in Beirut, causing great destruction in the capital of Lebanon.
However, only 2.7 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate exploded then.
Jonsson is clearly unhappy with the Norwegian authorities’ response to this potential threat from what he calls a “bomb ship.” Jonsson was previously the researcher who brought to the attention of many in the world’s media the Russian campaign to jam planes’ GPS signals over the Baltic Sea, causing huge problems for civilian air traffic and the risk of accidents.
Now he is trying to draw attention to another potential security hole in Europe.
