Chaika UAV to start its flight tests

Chaika UAV, which is built on the basis of the tail design, will start its flight tests.

According to reports, the Chaika attack drone, which was developed by Stratim design bureau engineers, will soon be flown for tests on the real battlefield.

When creating the Chaika, Stratim specialists chose an aerodynamic design that includes all the key advantages of aircraft and multi-rotor models.

The new drone is able to take off and land like a helicopter, which does not need a runway, etc., and can move “like an airplane” in the air.  At the same time, Chaika carries up to 4.5 kg of cargo and has a range of 30 km at a speed of 100 km/h.

It should be noted that in Stratim company, the first batch of new Chaika drones are being assembled, which will be delivered to Russian units in combat zones for testing in March.  In addition, the Stratim design office is working on the Yastreb suicide drone, which will be a cheaper version of the Geranium drone.

Yastreb drone, as we mentioned earlier, has a range of 350 km and is equipped with a high-explosive warhead weighing 16 kg.  The speed of this drone will be 300 km/h with a piston engine and 700 km/h with a jet engine.  The high speed of the Yastreb jet drone allows it to be used as a false target in the role of a cruise missile, deceiving defense systems to make way for the main missiles.
