Azizi, a female Kurdish activist and former political prisoner from Mahabad, was accused of “membership in the country’s opposition groups” by the 5th investigation branch of the Evin Security Prosecutor’s Office.

Ms. Azizi’s case has been sent to Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, headed by Iman Afshari, after the indictment was issued.
Azizi, a graduate of social work, who has spent the last six months and ten days in detention and under intense pressure, has been deprived of his basic rights, including access to a lawyer.
On December 20 of this year, this political prisoner was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin prison, known as the intelligence detention center, after the end of the interrogation period.
On the 13th of August 1402, Azizi was arrested in Tehran.
He was arrested on November 25, 2008, during the protest gathering of Kurdish students of Tehran University against political executions in Kurdistan, and after four months of detention, he was temporarily released on bail.
