Last night, we witnessed an interesting precedent in this war. Ukrainian air defense units were able to shoot down and hit two rare and important aircraft of the Russian air defense system: DRLV A-50 and Il-22M11 (PKP)
What did the planes shoot down? Based on the fact that the distance to the A-50 drop zone from the front line is less than 100 km, the only weapon in the armed forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that can hit an aircraft-type target is the PAC-2 GEM-T/GEM-C anti-aircraft missile. And here comes an interesting detail:
the pilot of the Russian Su-34 (launching the X-59) during a conversation with the dispatcher , reported that his plane came under the radiation of the “300-tka” radar (that is, the S-300), which was previously reported by the onboard SPO. After that, he performed an evasive maneuver from the anti-aircraft missile that was probably fired at him.
The X-59 launch itself took place over the same region of the Sea of Azov.
Today, sources from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed the destruction of their aircraft by the Patriot complex.
Logical explanation: the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out an operation to attack these planes, knowing in advance all the details of the flight.
