The Russian Federation and Nicaragua will continue to work together in the field of information security

On December 13, Russian-Nicaraguan consultations on international information security (IIS) were held in Moscow with the participation of representatives of interested government bodies. The Russian delegation was headed by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cooperation in the Field of Information Security, Director of the Department of International Information Security of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs A.R. Lyukmanov, the Nicaraguan delegation was headed by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Nicaragua for the development of relations with Russia L. Ortega Murillo.
The meeting confirmed the consonance of our countries’ approaches to the development of bilateral interaction, the formation of a global international information security system based on the principles of sovereign equality of states and non-interference in their internal affairs. Among the common objectives is the development, under the auspices of the UN, of legally binding instruments in the field of combating information crime and preventing conflicts in the digital sphere, as well as ensuring the stable and secure functioning of the Internet.
An agreement was reached to continue the dialogue in the field of international investment next year.
The meeting confirmed the consonance of the approaches of the two countries to the development of bilateral interaction, the formation of a global international information system based on the principles of sovereign equality of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.
