The Project 885M nuclear submarine “Krasnoyarsk” code “Yasen-M”, being built for the Pacific Fleet, launched Kalibr-PL and Oniks missiles during state tests. The launch was made from an underwater position in the White Sea. A source close to the Russian military department reported this to TASS.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, one of the missiles was launched from a torpedo tube, the other from a firing complex.
According to another TASS source, after completion of state tests and transfer to the Navy, the transfer of the Krasnoyarsk nuclear submarine to the Pacific Fleet is expected in 2024.
Currently, Sevmash is building six Project 885M nuclear submarines. The nuclear submarines “Severodvinsk” (project 885), “Kazan”, “Novosibirsk” (project 885M) were transferred to the fleet. Starting with the Perm nuclear submarine, the sixth in the Yasen/Yasen-M family, the submarines of this project will be regular carriers of Zircon hypersonic missiles.
