The West believes that the joint activities of Russia and China in the region are demonstrated against the backdrop of the planned multinational naval exercise in the Asia-Pacific region “Rimpak” (duration: June 29 – August 4).

June 29 to August 4 Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Republic of Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tonga, the United Kingdom and the United States will take part in the world’s largest naval exercise Rim of the Pacific 2022 (RIMPAC) in the Pacific, sending a loud message to China.

RIMPAC will be attended by:
26 countries, 38 ships, 4 submarines, over 170 aircraft and about 25,000 people.

The exercise will take place in and around the Hawaiian Islands and off the coast of Southern California.

As the main goal, the command of the US Navy considers improving the interaction between the fleets of the Asia-Pacific countries to ensure stability in the region. The following are considered as potential threats to stability:

• the threat of an attack on Taiwan if Taiwan declares its independence;
• Threat from North Korea in relation to South Korea, USA, Japan.
