The World Badminton Federation (BWF) has announced a decision to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
As noted on the organization’s website, badminton players and officials from the two countries are not eligible to participate in events under the auspices of the BWF. The decision will come into force on March 8. The BWF has also decided to cancel all tournaments scheduled in Russia and Belarus.
Some Russian athletes will be able to take part in the Parabadminton tournament in Spain as they have already arrived at the venue.
