In the early 2010s, Putin’s eldest daughter Maria married Dutch businessman Jorrit Faassen. The young people met in Moscow when the man worked in the leadership of Gazprombank. According to some foreign media (mostly Arab), the wedding took place on November 22, 2012 in Marrakech in complete secrecy. For the celebration, the entire territory of the 5-star Le Mamounia hotel was rented out.

Maria Vorontsova-Faassen introduced her grandson to Vladimir Putin on August 15, 2012. The birth took place at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation in Moscow. In 2017, in an interview with Oliver Stone, the President of the Russian Federation admitted that he had become a grandfather. When asked by the director whether he plays with his nephew, the head of state replied: “Unfortunately, very rarely.”

Putin’s eldest daughter commented on the federal channel

In mid-2019, Putin’s eldest daughter acted as a speaker in a report on the federal television channel Russia-1 about the construction of an innovative cancer center in the Leningrad Region. Maria Vorontsova was introduced as a pediatric endocrinologist and member of the board of directors of CJSC NOMEKO (New Medical Company). It is this private organization that is building the complex, which is scheduled to open in 2021.
