Mass evacuations based on disinformation must occur. Only then can they terminate water, electricity, and other basic services when needed. With no citizens around to record and witness nothing from Ukraine, Russian special forces, intelligence units and Wagner PMC can falsely proclaim anything they wish. To show damage to buildings in Donbas, Russia must be allowed to shell, mortar and blow up a requisite number. Any potential casualties add to the effect, and may even be called for. If called for women and children create the greatest spectacle and outpouring of sympathy.
From fake acts of sabotage, to staged explosions, recordings of their own artillery, craters created for effect with scenes of fire at night. Russia must have been educated by movie directors and producers for their latest disinformation escapade. The cognitive war fully integrated with virtual and kinetic actions sets the stage for the antagonist. A Shakespearean anti-hero who unwittingly lays the foundation for his eventual downfall. History will not be kind to the man behind radioactive poisonings, assassinations, opponents falling from hotel balconies, falsely jailing political adversaries, a massive kleptocracy, doping, and a rap sheet of illegal activities too long to list.
“Russia has never attacked anyone over the course of all its history”- Putin’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov
Putin has gone to war 4 times already — Chechnya 1999, Georgia 2008, Ukraine 2014, and Syria 2015. Each time the West could not stop him and Putin felt like he won. His current invasion plan is bigger than any of these previous wars. But tragically, Putin feels at ease in war.
The events in and around Ukraine perpetrated by Putin is being studied and will be the basis for many case studies in the future.
