China is a party to numerous maritime territorial disputes in the South China and East China Seas.

Paracel Islands in the South China Sea: claimed by China and Vietnam;  under the control of China.

Spratly Islands in the South China Sea: fully claimed by China, Taiwan and Vietnam, partially by the Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei;  partially occupied by these countries, except for Brunei.

Scarborough Bank in the South China Sea: claimed by China, Taiwan and the Philippines;  has been controlling China since 2012.

Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea: claimed by China, Taiwan and Japan;  under the rule of Japan.
