Six Egyptian army soldiers were killed and others wounded in an attack by Islamic State fighters in Sinai.
Egypt – Sinai – Amaq Agency: Six Egyptian soldiers were killed and others wounded, in an armed attack targeting their barracks in North Sinai.
Military sources told “Amaq” agency that the Islamic State fighters launched an attack, on Saturday morning, on the barracks of the Egyptian army near the village of “Al-Jura” in the “Sheikh Zuweid” area.
The sources added that the fighters targeted the barracks with machine guns and hand grenades, which resulted in the death of 6 people, including an officer, and the wounding of others.
The sources reported that the fighters detonated an explosive device on an “M60” tank that tried to advance, causing material damage and preventing it from reaching the site of the attack.
