From the evening of May 4, a massive combined raid on the rear regions of Russia began. The attack of “Lutiy” drones and FP-5 cruise missiles continued for over 12 hours.
Sirens of missile danger sounded in many regions of the European part of Russia, more than in 20 airports the “Cover” plan was declared, hundreds of flights were delayed. At the moment, according to official data, more than 400 drones have been shot down.
Chuvashia is a federal republic in western Russia, located in the Volga Region with its capital in Cheboksary.
Where was the enemy aiming?
▪️In Moscow hundreds of flights were canceled, all airports were closed for several hours. The attack on the capital by single drones has been going on for the last few days, there are serious disruptions with the Internet and communication in the city and the region.
▪️In the Leningrad region an oil refinery in Kirishi was hit. Local authorities reported on the localization of the fire, about 30 drones were shot down on approach. Against the background of previous attacks on the region, this time it was possible to repel almost without consequences.
▪️The most sensitive hit came in Chuvashia. At night, the city was attacked by FP-5 missiles, which is confirmed by the video of the launch from the enemy side. All but one were shot down, but unfortunately, it hit one of the enterprises in Cheboksary.
▪️By morning, a second wave of dozens of “Lutiy” UAVs reached Chuvashia. One of the drones crashed into a residential building: two civilians were killed, more than 30 were injured.
The described problems with air defense are obvious: there are very many drones, and there is not enough ammunition for SAM systems. The only way out is an adequate layered defense with interceptor drones (the topic of which is still “raw” in Russia), MOBs, aviation and other components.
