The hypocrisy in this fascist dog whistle masquerading as policy preference reeks of ethno-nationalist favoritism and racial supremacy. Afghans—who have faced executions, acid attacks, and systemic repression under the Taliban—are being caged, deported, and demonized. Their persecution is documented, current, and brutal. Yet, they are deemed unworthy of asylum under a standard that quietly favors melanin levels over merit or human dignity.
Meanwhile, a grotesque exception materializes for Afrikaners, not due to an actual genocide—none exists—but because they are white and speak a European colonial language. They are not targeted by an organized insurgency like the Taliban. They are not subject to widespread execution, forced marriage, or public amputations. Yet, political figures sympathetic to white nationalist ideology distort the truth to advance a vision of immigration policy rooted not in human rights but in race preservation.
Claiming that assimilation depends on whiteness exposes the rot at the core of such policy. It ignores that culture, language acquisition, and community integration are social constructs—not genetic endowments. This line of reasoning brands darker-skinned refugees as forever alien, forever un-American, and inherently unfit. It rewrites humanitarian law as a filter for apartheid nostalgia.
Elevating Afrikaners while abandoning Afghans reveals the grotesque racial calculus behind so-called “merit-based” immigration. It exploits false narratives of persecution to smuggle white ethno-nationalism into mainstream discourse. There is no intellectual defense for this position—only the cowardice of xenophobic grievance wrapped in bureaucratic jargon. The policy does not protect American values. It desecrates them. Wanting people “like us” is not policy. It is a purity test. And in every historical instance—from fascist Italy to Nazi Germany—that test ends in violence.
