Information was used from reports of the Russian Ministry of Defense, central news agencies, regional and municipal news portals, press services of shipbuilding industry enterprises; from naval and factory newspapers; from foreign Internet resources; from social networks; from websites, blogs and forums on naval, military and military-industrial topics.
Note 1 . Due to the lack of information on the training and combat activity of submarine forces, all submarines (nuclear, except for SSBNs, and diesel-electric), for which sufficiently reliable information has not been published for three or more years to allow judgments about their status, are considered technically faulty (put into reserve of the 2nd category).
Note 2 . In the absence of reliable information on the status of surface ships for one year, the status is designated “In service?”, two years − the ships are put into the yellow zone (in reserve – P2).

Тактические, бортовые и заводские номера кораблей, построенных до 2014 года, как и даты их вступления в строй, взяты главным образом с ресурса http://russianships.info а также из четырёхтомного справочника Ю. Апалькова “Корабли ВМФ СССР” и в ряде случаев откорректированы. Аббревиатуры и номера корабельных соединений взяты из серии публикаций “Весь российский флот” (Коммерсантъ Власть, 25.02.2008), а также из статей русскоязычной Википедии, посвящённых пунктам базирования ВМФ России.
