A court in Russia has, for the first time, ordered Yandex to hide access to maps and photos of one of its refineries after drone attacks, as this “undermines Russia’s defense capabilities.” This once again proves that the consequences of such attacks are much more serious than Russian propaganda is willing to admit.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops, Russian oil refineries have been subjected to dozens of drone attacks, as a result of which fuel production in the Russian Federation fell by more than 10%. Russia was also forced to stop exporting gasoline.
The Center previously reported that drone attacks on oil refineries were one of the reasons for the record increase in gasoline prices in the Russian Federation over the past 13 years.
