According to satellite images, the Russians have begun digging a line of fortifications in the Kursk region, 45 kilometers from the border.
If the Russians are forced to retreat to this line under pressure from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, significant areas of the Kursk region will remain under Ukrainian control.
