Participant of the “Crimean Spring”
VM-416 entered service with the Black Sea Fleet in 1972, and at the end of its service life it was decommissioned and put into storage in 2009.
However, between its withdrawal from the fleet and its final dismantling, it once again served the Navy.
On the night of 03/06/2014, the hull of the vessel was used as an additional obstacle (along with the hull of the BOD “Ochakov” and the diving vessel VM-232) on the fairway when leaving Lake Donuzlav (Crimea) in order to prevent those who were there from leaving Ukrainian warships and auxiliary vessels. Subsequently, the hull of the vessel was lifted from the fairway by a special ship-lifting detachment and moved to a sandbank inside Lake Donuzlav. In September 2018, the hull of the vessel on pontoons was towed to Streletskaya Bay of Sevastopol, where in February-March 2019 it was cut into metal.
