223 Russian military facilities are deployed on the territory of occupied Crimea, an interactive map with their location was published by Radio Liberty’s “Crimea Realities” project back in May of last year.
This was done in order to illustrate the level of militarization of the peninsula and to warn first of all civilians about the dangers associated with these places.
Some of these facilities are former Ukrainian military units, but there are also some that Russia created completely from scratch. At the same time, most of them are in densely populated cities near residential buildings, schools and hospitals, which the occupiers cynically use as human shields.
This map should be printed and distributed to every vacationer who travels from Russia to Crimea for the purpose of a “safe” vacation.
