Xi Jinping took part in a conference on the political work of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China in Yan’an, Shaanxi Province

He emphasized that these problems manifest themselves in politics, ideology, organization, style, discipline, etc. and are rooted in ideals and beliefs, the education of the party spirit, and the moral character of officials.

The CMC should strengthen unified leadership, the Political Work Department, Discipline Inspection Commission, and Political and Legal Commission of the CMC should strengthen coordination and cooperation, and all units and departments should perform their duties and strive to create a new situation in political building of the army, forge this heroic army led by our party to be stronger, and welcome the 100th anniversary of the founding of the army with outstanding achievements.

This Central Military Commission Political Work Conference was decided and convened by Xi Jinping himself. The meeting focused on studying and implementing the spirit of Xi Jinping’s important speech, and made research and deployment on major issues related to promoting political building of the army in the new era and new journey.

Zhang Youxia and He Weidong, members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairmen of the Central Military Commission, and Liu Zhenli, Miao Hua, and Zhang Shengmin, members of the Central Military Commission, attended the meeting.  The meeting was attended by major responsible persons from various departments of the CMC, various directly affiliated agencies of the CMC, the CMC Joint Operations Center, various theater commands, various services and arms, various directly affiliated units of the CMC, and the armed police force.
