Yet… How illegitimate elections are held in the occupied territories of Ukraine
On Russian and local channels in occupied Donetsk and Lugansk, the media are doing their best to create the picture that people want to come and make their choice.
Also, the Russian media talk about a high percentage of turnout in the occupied territories of Donbass. But in fact, people under occupation are often forced not only to participate in illegal elections but also to have armed men come straight to their homes. Teachers and other public sector employees are forced not only to vote but also to work in “election commissions.”
Can people living under occupation be tried in Ukraine to participate in illegal elections when Ukraine liberates its territories? Here, the answer is clear – no.
