The operator of the Hook and ERMAC botnets, known in Russian under the nickname DukeEugene, died in Ukraine during Russian terrorist operations. Information about this was posted on the XSS forum by newreg user lol4ik1337.
The author of the message did not attach evidence. However, according to Darknet News, lol4ik1337 knew the last name, first name, and appearance of DukeEugene, as well as his date of birth.
The author of the message found information about his death in a database of dead Russian soldiers.
However, the specific circumstances of the death remain unknown.
DukeEugene wrote about his deployment to illegal war area on the forum back in April 2023. Now his profile on the site is blocked.
