Missile strikes at five in the morning were supposed to wake up civilians who were not ready for resistance. Instead, they awakened one of the strongest armies in the world.
In this video, the military recalls the first hours of the biggest war in Europe in 80 years.
Today is 2 years since the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.
Two years that turned a ten-year war into the largest in Europe since the Second World War. When thousands of columns of Russian invaders moved from all directions into Ukraine, when thousands of rockets and bombs fell on our land, no one in the world believed that we would stand. No one, except the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which entered into battle with the enemy from the first minutes.
No one, except for hundreds of thousands of volunteers who, in the first hours of the full-scale aggression, stood in queues at military commissariats. In addition to the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who signed up for the Territorial Defense Forces from the first days. In addition to millions of Ukrainians, who, with the help of volunteers, began to support their army, unprecedented in history. No one believed, but Ukraine did! She believed, accepted the battle and persevered. Between guns and evacuation, we chose guns. Then there was the battle for Kyiv and the escape of the occupiers from the suburbs of the capital under the blows of our defenders.
Then the liberation of the Snake Island and the gradual cleaning of the Black Sea from Russian scrap metal.
Then there was the Kharkiv offensive operation and the liberation of Kherson.
There was also an attempt at a Ukrainian counteroffensive, which, unfortunately, did not bring the desired result due to objective circumstances.
Today, we continue to fight the enemy along the entire front line. We pay the highest price for our freedom, so that every Ukrainian city or village does not become another Buch, Bakhmut or Avdiivka. The best sons and daughters of the Ukrainian people are dying!
We bow our heads to those who gave the most precious thing – their lives for Ukraine. We remember! We will take revenge!
Today, my words of thanks to all Ukrainian defenders and defenders, who even at this moment are repelling Russian attacks and destroying the enemy. A low bow to medics, rescuers, volunteers – all those who help the Defense Forces of Ukraine bring our Victory closer! On this day, I also want to thank our partners for their help. Every projectile, every tank, every armored vehicle is, first of all, saving the life of a Ukrainian soldier. We fight for every meter of our land, but the most valuable thing we have is the life of a Ukrainian soldier.
I believe that in the near future we will give an asymmetric response to the Russian occupier in the air as well. There will be even more burning Russian planes. The state leadership is doing everything possible for this.
